Rolling Stone Review of Celebration
Rob Sheffield of Rolling Stone gives Celebration 4/5 stars in this review: What? No 'Hanky Panky'? Is this some kind of a joke? Given how obsessive her fans are, it's a thankless task for Madonna to assemble a two-CD hit collection. But from the opening one-two of 'Hung Up' and 'Music,' two of her best ever, Celebration kicks off with pure bliss and never lets up.
It's a dizzying, nonchronological spin through the Madonna years, years it makes you feel lucky to be living through. Her hitmaking genius is unmatched and - with the new Eurocheese blast 'Celebration' and the Lil Wayne duet 'Revolver' - undiminished. It's almost enough to make you forget that they left off 'Angel,' which is just plain crazypants.

CELEBRATION OR NOT??
I bought the new Madonna Celebration CD and DVD and....well...although it's an amazing compilation...I have a few complaints. Justify My Love video being censored is complete and utter bullshit. If they were going to censor it then why even bother putting it on the compilation?? Here you are...all into it...then out come some shitty black bars strategically placed over some nipples. WTF?! I have a hard time with the logic that Madonna would have agreed to do this. After all...she fought hard over the censorship of this video at the time of it's release. Us Maddy fans also seem to notice a glitch at the beginning of the Vogue video. How come Warner did not fix this error?? With a legend like Madonna a simple glitch like this should not have ever happened on such a compilation of hits. With that being said....the compilation is a great one to say the least. It's nice to see HQ versions of videos such as Into the Groove and Burning Up. I must say though once again...Justify My Love is an extreme disappointment. It's the one video I was hoping to see in all it's uncensored HQ dvd glory. Thank god for my bootleg Madonna dvd video collections! I have an almost HQ version I can still watch with a smile.
